Web Design and Development Process

Following the planning and consultation phase, the design and development phase begins. We take into account your target audience, information architecture and navigation needs. Building on your existing branding we bring your look and feel to the web in an efficient and usable design and layout.

We believe that rich, compelling content on a website can create a friendly, intuitive environment for users, as well as a positive perception of your brand. We highly recommend integrating quality content assets (good photography, descriptive graphics, and well-written copy) throughout your site. We recommend starting early on gathering, writing and creating content, as it is almost always one of the most time-consuming client tasks.

Once the design is final, it is built out into a functioning set of website templates that interface with a custom-built database. This keeps your site’s look and feel consistent and allows for ease of maintenance through the content management system.

Populating the site with content and making functionality refinements is the next step. Once the site has its design, functionality, and content in place we present the website to you in a staging environment. While in the staging environment, your staff is trained in the easy-to-use, web-based content management system.

During the process of finalizing content and getting a hands on feel for the site’s functionality, adjustments can be made where needed in the site. Upon approval, the site “goes live” and becomes publicly available on the World Wide Web.

The result is a website that fits your needs, is easy to maintain, and one that has a clear and well-defined road map to success, providing a greater return on your investment. Since virtually all maintenance can be done internally, only a minimal maintenance budget is necessary. When future functionality is desired it can be integrated into the core site architecture.

Post-launch, we provide you with future web development ideas for a potential second phase of the project such as sending your first email newsletter and adding any functionality that was discussed but set aside for future phases.
