The Project

Background & Challenge

Conkling Fiskum & McCormick never before relied on their website to bring in business. They were a word-of-mouth business with word-of-mouth clientele. CFM wanted a website that was not only user-friendly, but was architected to allow for easy updates and consistent with their offline brand and character.

Solution

Locus kicked off the project with a website branding plan that included site architecture, content and layout creative, calls-to-action plans, online marketing tools, and results measurement methods that, when all combined, would integrate CFM’s offline expertise and character with the benefits of online presence and functionality for a complete communication solution.

Result

CFM’s web traffic tripled in just two months after launch of the new website. Focusing on the website as a branding tool first and sales tool second, CFM was excited to see new business come from the website and email marketing efforts. The website recently won the Bronze Beacon Award of Excellence from the International Association of Business Communicators.

Tech Highlights

Rotating Feature Pods:

From Testimonials to Case Studies, CFM’s clients are speaking volumes of CFM’s work. Locus developed rotating pods to communicate the quality of their work, but in an interesting and always changing format.

Article Management:

CFM’s online news hub, Insider Online, is a massive wealth of information, categorized into multiple sections and levels, with archives, images, and even video. Locus built a complex database-driven tool to manage the content and allow for easy updating.

Cross-site targeted cross-linking:

CFM’s clients, projects, articles and resources were all connected somehow to their business lines. Locus completed the connection through cross-linking all content, for increased search engine optimization and usability. All content and links are editable by CFM in the site admin.
